Peer Support Officer

Hey Student Midwives! My names Patrice & I’m currently a new 3rd year student.

I Joined the MidSoc committee at the end of 2nd year & have taken on the role of Peer Support mentor to support you! I have been studying my entire life & I’m aware of how challenging studying can be. I also have dyslexia and ADHD & I wouldn’t have survived studying without support so it would be a privilege to support you too into this transition as a student midwife.

I have come from a mental health background, & I had the privilege to attain a masters at The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at Kings College London. I have a special interest in black maternal mental health & promoting normality in midwifery. I am now also a member of the midwifery tackling racism working group.

Being able to study midwifery has been a battle but worth all the blood sweat and tears! Honestly so amazing!

Other than studying I love to live my best, hot girl life, travel & have a blast.

I look forward to supporting you through your own battles & seeing you all! Xx
