Alumni Helper (formerly President 2022/23, Vice President and Treasurer 2021/22)

Hi everyone! I joined the MidSoc committee at the end of my first year as Vice President and later took on the role of Treasurer. After our previous President qualified, I took on the role. I love meeting and sharing experiences with everyone, helping to plan events, and making sure we have the £ to do them.

I have recently qualified and committed to staying on as an alumni helper as I really enjoyed the various roles I had with the society and want to continue to be a part of the society.

As a teenager, I witnessed the births of my 2 youngest siblings. My mum always enveloped me with a positive view of pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. After watching midwives care for my mother, I knew midwifery was the career for me!

My journey to midwifery took several detours including training as a birth doula, designing my own website and crochet patterns, and training as an early childhood educator.

My passion is promoting normality and breastfeeding.

If the care I provide to mothers, families and babies helps them feel supported, valued and empowered to make the choices that are right for them, I know I am fulfilling my dream to its fullest.

I hope that you enjoy being part of our rather large tight-knit community of student midwives. I look forward to meeting all of you on campus, in person, at events, on placement, wherever, whenever. If you see me around, come say hi. I can't wait to share this journey with you!
